How do I request a GPS installation for an equipment?
Request the installation of a GPS tracking device on equipment registered in the Touchway platform and track the entire approval and service process.
GPS installation enables real-time tracking for equipment registered in the platform.
Before creating a request, make sure the equipment is already registered in the system.
If the equipment does not exist in the platform yet, please refer to How do I register a new equipment? before proceeding.
To request a GPS installation:
- Navigate to Equipment > List.
- Select one or more equipment records.
- Click Install GPS.
- Fill in the request information:
- Request scope
- Responsible contact person
- Contact phone number
- Service location
- Desired service date
- Notes (optional)
- Click Request Service(s).
After submission, the request will be sent through the approval process and then scheduled for technical service.
Important information
- Only equipment without an installed GPS can receive installation requests.
- Equipment that already has a GPS installed will be automatically ignored.
- Multiple equipment records can be included in the same request.
- All required fields must be completed before submitting the request.
- Depending on your organization’s rules, approval may be required before service can be performed.
- Request progress can be tracked under Equipment > Service Requests.
Frequently Asked Questions
The equipment does not appear in the selection list. What should I do?
Make sure the equipment has been registered in the platform. Unregistered equipment cannot receive installation requests.
Can I request installation for multiple equipment records at once?
Yes. Select all desired equipment before clicking Install GPS.
What happens if I select equipment that already has a GPS installed?
The equipment will be automatically ignored and will not be included in the request.
